How To Create A Blog

Progress is going good.  All my previous work sets up how to create a blog with popular keywords that will target my visitors and start making money.  A quick review of what I have done so far … First I made the commitment to blog for money, next I set my desired results, found what I think will be a hot niche market and popular keywords to target visitors for my niche.

There are several blog hosting internet companies I can choose from or I can host a blog on my own server.  I can find templates and styles to match the theme of my niche no matter what blog style I use to build my blog.  The differences will be flexibility and longivity.

I personally prefer to host my own Wordpress blog on my own domain name which allows me the most flexibility.  I won't have to worry about my account being shut down which and and does happen with blogs hosted online.  Although I do sometimes like to also build Blogspot com blogs on the side to go with my main blogs (www.blogger.com)

Blogspot is a great place for newbies to build a blog because it is user friendly and can be switched to a regular domain later down the road.

OK, moving on, I am now going to build a blog that looks like a personal blog (sorta) which is really my business blog.

I have to remember some important factors to properly create a blog to make money.  All the work I did earlier now comes into play.  Since I'm blogging to make money I have to remember first of all who my target market is and use all my keywords in posts, titles etc.

I plan to teach my visitors how to get rid of computer viruses. Visitors don't want loads of hype, they want to learn and increase their knowledge so they can make an informed decision and build a good opinion about my blog.

I will plan on updating my blog with content as much as possible because it is vitally important to add fresh unique content regularly. (at least once a week) To blog successfully I need to keep my visitors interested with easy to find information.

How to create a successful blog that makes money needs special attention and care every step of the way.  All my previous work has prepared me for doing it right.  Wish me luck … I'm off to build my money making blog.

Use Keywords People Are Searching For

In order to reach my desired results in "The Formula Needed To Blog Effectively" I have to use keywords people are searching for.  Keywords or key phrases are terms that a possible web site visitor would use to find my specific product, service or information that is on my blog.

Since I only want targeted visitors to be able to find my blog, this step MUST be done correctly.  This way, when someone puts one of the terms that that matches content in my blog into a search engine, my blog will be one of the sites that shows up in their results.

I will want to use title keywords in every post title on my blog.  The most popular keywords for my niche will also be included in my domain name and all my content used on my blog.  I have to search keywords the people in my niche market would be using to find the information I am offering.

The more keywords that my blog uses, the more people will come to my blog.  It just takes time and patience.  Good keyword research takes work, no way around that.  I need to pick keywords that will generate at least 2000 visitors a month or I will be wasting my time.

So here's what I am going to do, I am going to find popular keywords for my blogging niche.  Then I am going to use those keywords and search Google.  The top 10 results ARE my competition.  I will peek at what they are offering and use their url in the Adwords keyword tool to find keywords related to the content on their page.

I am also going to put those very same popular keywords for my blogging niche in ezine article directory.  This will give me ideas for content and I will also discover what keywords the authors are using to get views to their articles.

From all this information I gather, I will be able to use keywords people are searching for and continue my journey to blog successfully.

Find A Profitable Niche Market

To do niche blogging, I need to know how to find a profitable niche market.  This is a must if I want to easily start a blog to make money.  But …

What the heck is a niche?  The definition of a niche is, simply put, a crowd of the same type of people spending money on the same type of product.  So this part of my blogging for money journey is to do a little niche research.

Am I trying to find a good niche?  NO.  That's right, I said no.  What I am trying to find are the "profitable niches" during my niche research.  Remember, I need 2000 targeted visitors to my site a month in order to reach my desired results.

I should statistically sell 2% of the $10 niche product(s) I will offer on my blog if this part is done correctly. Which is why I need to think about "the formula to effective blogging" while I am looking at possible hot niches to blog about.  Remember … I have a desired result I want to reach.

I think I found it! "how do i get rid of a trojan virus"  There's lots of people looking for trojan virus removal solutions.  It's a good niche for me because, my day job as a computer technician, I clean trojan viruses for people every day and I feel comfortable blogging about this subject.

This is also a hot niche because I can expand on it offering "related" products later.  Examples … spyware, worms, slow pcs, data recovery etc

Since the best way to avoid too much competition is by narrowing down my niche market to a tightly-defined group of consumers, I picked "trojan viruses" vs a more broad term like computer viruses to narrow down my market.    Now I can target my audience carefully and match my product benefits with my target audience using my long tail keywords "how do I get rid of trojan viruses"

TIP: How to find a profitable niche market is not difficult.  Try this, go to DMOZ.org and look at directories with the highest numbers in brackets. This should give you some ideas you can try to start a blog that makes money.

The Formula Needed To Blog Effectively

How to blog effectively begins with knowing the "formula" to follow.  It doesn't matter how you want to make money online, this formula is what determines your effectiveness.  Let me explain.

I've been trying to learn internet marketing for the past few years …  I feel like I have tried it all.  Adwords, Adsense, affiliate marketing etc …  Now it's time to get serious with what I know and like.  Out of all the options to make money online, they all fall under the same principal.

Understanding the principal of conversion rates is the way to know the full possible potential.  It is also the formula I use to know how much work I will need to get done to reach my desired results.  What am I talking about?

Traffic x Conversion Rate x Value = Profit … it is really this simple.  For example, I want to make $400 a month online for starters, ok?  It is statistically proven that 2% of my website visitors should buy from me.  For me to get my desired $400 a month, I need 2000 website visitors with a product to sell of $10.

Of course if I had a higher priced item, I would need less visitors.  Makes sense to me, does it to you?  Let's examine my desired monthly results in "the formula" …

Traffic x Conversion Rate x Value = Profit
2000 x 2% = 40 x $10 = $400

Now I know what I need to succeed. 2000 website visitors a month is a very realistic goal and should be reachable if the blog I build is set up properly.  I should have no problem following the formula to reach $400 a month.  I hear you saying, that's it?  Only $400 a month?  Really?

Well, that would be a nice extra amount of money for me, wouldn't you like an extra $400 per month? Plus once I get it to work I'm going to use the "secret method" to turn that into money a month.  Shhhhhhh, don't share this secret method with anyone, ok?  It'll be our secret.

"Rinse, Repeat, and Profit!" … get one blog making my desired results and do the process over and over.  Now the $400 x 10 successful blogs turns into $4000 a month!  Again, it is really that simple and how to blog effectively.

THE FORMULA TO BLOG EFFECTIVELY

Blogging Basics

Have you heard other people talking on and on about their "blogs" while all you could do was smile and nod?

Yes, "blog" is a peculiar word, conjuring visions of mosquito-infested swamps, and you can't imagine why people would be eager to get more visitors to theirs.

But eager they are. In spite of the rather unfortunate name, blogs are the hottest things in communication since cell phones. Blogs are websites on which almost anybody can post information on almost any topic as often as they like. Blogs can be devoted to a single factual topic, or they can be the equivalent of personal diaries in which people record their private thoughts and observations about the world. The contents of a blog are limited only by the imagination of the blog's creator, or "author".

If you find the thought of your own blog appealing, and have an Internet-connected computer, here are some suggestions to help you both get a blog going and build an audience with whom you can share it:

First, choose a topic for your blog on which you will enjoy communicating, and prepare your material. You opinions on a subject are fine, as long as they are based on some underlying. There are always going to be those who know as much, about a topic as you, and if you want a credible blog, you need to be able to back up your statements.

Add some humor and personal experiences to your topic if you can. Writing a travel blog about places you have actually been, and about colorful locals whom you actually encountered, will make much better reading than just posting facts and figures picked up from travel sites and TV shows. Offer material which will appeal to both novice travelers–like how to avoid pickpockets–and more seasoned ones–like the best undiscovered attractions in a specific destination.

Don't limit your blog to your own experiences. Keep it updated with news that might affect those interested in your subject. While your experiences can give people valuable insight, recognize that your opinions about what happened to you or about a specific product are, after all, just opinions. Give people factual information which they can weigh for themselves.

Keep you blog current. On the Internet, news can become old in a matter of hours, and what happened a month ago is ancient history. Telling people considering a trip to Thailand that Thailand experienced a coup last September will do nothing to help them decide about a trip next month. Updating them on the peaceful state of affairs in Thailand today, however, will.

Updating your blog will require a commitment from you. You'll need to establish a regular time to search for and write about fresh news, and get it posted. There'll be times when not much has happened, and there'll be times when you can't type fast enough. But two or three times a week are not too many to post something new. Even it it's only to tell your readers that not much has been going on, share a few thoughts, and tell your readers when to next check in for your next entry, make an appearance. Your audience will keep coming back as long as they know you are.

Keep you blog as simple as you can, without sounding like you don't have a complete grasp of your subject. You want to appeal to as many people as possible, and nothing will drive those newly interested in a subject away faster than lots of technical jargon and statistics. You can provide complex information, as long as you make the effort to put it in user-friendly terms.

Find a memorable name for your blog, and use your blog editing feature to post it in large, bold-face type. "My Hiking Blog" will probably sound interesting only to Mom and Dad and only because you never write or call them while you're out adventuring. "Climbing through the Clouds" will appeal to those who either tackle the high places of the Earth, or want to.

Every so often, say, at the end of each month, archive your existing blog posts. Your blog editor will let you do this in a less than a minute. The entries will still be available for new blog readers who want to catch up, or those who want to reference your earlier writings. And list keywords for your archived work so that new traffic will be able to find its way to you.

Finally, make sure your blog is professionally presented. You have a spell checker, so use it. Proof-read your copy and correct any grammar or punctuation errors before you post your work. If you're not sure whether you are using a word properly, get help from an online dictionary. Respect your readers as intelligent, well-informed people who could just as easily spend their time elsewhere.

These suggestions may make your entry into the world of blogging more successful, but it's up to you to commit to building and keeping an audience.
